Description	Batting is loaded on to the material staging rack. Rack can accept batting rolls 50 ˝" wide with a 40" diameter. The batting is fed between 2 layers of laminating film. Film rolls need a core diameter of 6". Film roll maximum width is 48" with an approximate diameter of 28". Batting, sandwiched between the 2 layers of film, is fed through bars and guides to maintain alignment and then between 2 heated rolls. Heat to the rolls is supplied by a Sterlco oil heater and delivered to the rolls via rotary unions. The heated rolls have a face length of 78 ž" and a diameter of 6". Laminated material is drug through this process using a weighted roll holding material against a slatted conveyor. Laminated material accumulates between laminator and cutting table. Material is driven through cutting process by an adjustable pinch roll. The cutting process consists of 3 electric DC motors that cut the material length wise and a pneumatic motor on a rod less air cylinder to provide the crosscut. Crosscut length is controlled by a Red Lion rotary encoder. Trim is removed from the long edge and transported to a gaylord by a venturi blower. Laminator conveyor speed and cutting table pinch roller speeds are controlled by VFD?s. Other control operations are performed by a Micrologix 1000 PLC. The above operations will produce 1 to 3 double sided laminated pieces of controllable widths and lengths every 4 to 6 seconds.
